Can Subaltern Women Speak? Where is Aime Cesaire’s “Sycorax”? by Kavisha Alagiya on Scribd
This presentation in its present form is an attempt to study Aime Cesaire's text ‘A Tempest’ adapted from Shakespeare’s classic and colonial play ‘The Tempest’ and the subaltern where an analysis will be made by focusing on the character of Sycorax and her role (whether highlighted or nullified) as the marginalized section of the patriarchal society. It uses Spivak’s subaltern theory which says “Can a subaltern speak?”
Thank you.
