Orientation Programme

For the first
time in the history of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, an
orientation program for new students enrolled in postgraduate departments was
organized. The program was very well hosted by students from the Department of
Business Administration, Faculty of Management at Atal Auditorium of Maharaja
Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University.
The main aim
behind this orientation program was to make new students familiar with
university services as well as to make aware regarding various platforms
provided by M K Bhavnagar University.
The program
started with a highly energetic performance-cum-prayer dance by K.P.E.S.
college students.

After lamp lightning, a welcome note provided by Dr.
A Kumar was indeed worth noting. He emphasized on the worth of this
orientation program.
Dr. J. Sonvane Sir |
Dr. J Sonvane, head of Educate Department, well-informed students about
academic Scholarship and various procedures to apply for these scholarships.
Scholarships provide an opportunity for many people to earn an education.
Dr. Indar Gadhvi, Chairperson of
Science provided a very brief note on placements in University and how students
get benefits from various Placement cells which were initially organized. These
Placement cell plays a very major role in locating job opportunities.

Dr.Himal Pandya
Sir, coordinator of NSS, gave fine information about National
Service Scheme and he also motivated and encouraged to participate in various
NSS activities. Sir briefly explained about recent reforms in NSS and to make a
thematic schedule throughout the year so that each month can be dedicated to
a specific activity. As for example a
month of
March for woman empowerment or the month of October
for digital literacy.

Sir, from commerce, shared his thoughts on the commerce sector, Sir
began his speech by
જીવન એમ ચાલ્યા કરે પણ કશુક નવું થઈ જાય તો શું વાત છે,
નથી પુરવા રંગ ભાતભાતના પણ કોઈ મેઘ ધનુષ રચાઈ જાય તો શું વાત છે.
Sir emphasized on
various professions which can be gained through commerce and management sector
and shared an anecdote to emphasize more on the skills of commerce sector
students. Savani Sir had modified the entire atmosphere through his vibrant
speech.

Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad Sir, Dean
of Arts Faculty inspired all on the need of digitization in day to day life
which covered almost every corner with various illustrations. Sir gave
information on how to apply online for admission with soft copy of
documents via email at various platforms. The main aim of digitalization is to
do work from home and we can even work twenty-four into seven. In addition, sir
added the use of technology in academia. Sir provided a detail explanation on two
words “University” and “Uniformity” often contradict with each other. Sir added
the history of the word “University” -a Latin word which means ‘Whole”- A community of teachers and scholars. Sir also talked about academic freedom- the freedom to ask questions.

Sir presented his
rational ideas on questioning the world with various illustrations of Socrates and
his social gatherings where he used to question people, another one Archimedes-
the mathematician. Illustrations of Wright brothers, Charles Darwin, Sigmund
Freud, Adam Smith, Karl Marx, John Ruskin and several others who questioned the Nature or nature and gave us various theories. Dilip Sir discussed the role of
Literature in portraying historical and scientific events. In addition, sir gave the importance of blogging in today's era.

Dr. Jayant Vyas addresses students with the very definition of Graduation and Post-Graduation,

એવું ને એવું બીજું સ્નાન એટલે અનુસ્નાતક
He opened the
concept of Education and various professions gained through education.
પરિવર્તન નું એક માત્ર સાધન એટલે શિક્ષણ
અને
પરિવર્તનનો એક દૂત એટલે શિક્ષક.
Sir
provided information on University Library, Several Departments and thus proved
his point that this University is small but Beautiful.

Gayatri Desai
sang a melodious folk song and a marvelous yogic dance was performed by girls.
The program
ended with a graceful folk dance on a Gujarati folk song by students and thereafter a
brief thanking note by Dr. Vedant Pandya Sir.

Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University and Dr. Mahipatsinh Chavda
Sir as well as the team for organizing this wonderful program.
